I am a programmer by training (Johns Hopkins). Starting in 1973 I spent ten years building minicomputer-based, real-time, transaction processing systems and the development tools (compilers, linkers, editors, debuggers) for our development team. I've been an independent developer and consultant since 1995 but I've been doing side consulting since 1979. In the '80s I wrote the IBM PC column for Creative Computing, followed by six years as the editor of PC Tech Journal. I continued writing into the late '90s.
I am currently creating self-service Web sites for very small businesses.
