I'm a Software Engineer working in Colorado Springs, CO. I obtained my Ph.D. in 2007 working on algorithms and software for medical image analysis. I'm currently a Principal Software Engineer, an Adjunct Professor at Carnegie Mellon University, and an avid software developer and technologist on the side.

Interests include scalable web applications, real-time applications, big data, and software architecture. I'm a polyglot developer, but have been working a lot in Node.js, Java, Python, and AngularJS lately, with Cassandra, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch behind.

I also run a software blog, and have some side projects.
