I am a former astrophysicist, and scientist working in medical imaging: breast cancer detection/diagnosis from MRI screening.

I left academia in 2014 to become a data scientist, combining my vast experience of data handling and modelling in complex, multi-dimensional scenarios with python programming, machine learning and statistical methods. I applied that to ad-tech, before moving to the visionary company Continuum Analytics, the power behind the numerical python ecosystem and the most popular python distribution anaconda. I split my time between instructing, consulting and development.

Along the way, I have trained myself with several vital technological tools, mostly in the python ecosystem: scientific libraries, big data technologies, data visualisation, desktop and web interfaces, sql, etc.
