Dave Geerardyn obtained the industrial engineer degree in electronics from the Hogeschool voor Wetenschap en Kunst, campus De Nayer, in 2007. After that, he obtained the Master degree in engineering sciences in photonics from the University of Ghent in 2009. When he finished his study, he joined the Laboratory of Micro- and Photonelectronics (LAMI) research group from the Electronics and Informatics (ETRO) department of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) as a teaching assistant and started his PhD research under the supervision of Prof. Maarten Kuijk, in the field of 3D Time-of-Flight applications. After his defense in June 2016, he obtained the title of Doctor in Engineering Sciences, summa cum laude. At the same moment, he joined the Aerospace and Defense industry at Antwerp Space as a System Engineer. Currently, he is working as a digital design architect and systems lead engineer on multiple R&D projects and collaborates with universities and research institutes.
