As an undergraduate from Bradford University, with an average of a 2:1 within my second year of Bsc Computer Science degree, I am currently on my placement year welcoming an opportunity to develop my own skills and knowledge to make a long term commitment with the progression of the organisation.
During my time at university I have regularly used a variety of technologies including HTML, CSS, Java and SQL whilst studying. I have extensive knowledge in regards to troubleshooting and fixing both hardware and software problems from my Software Development modules I have faced a lot of software problems whilst using Netbeans to create and compile Java desktop applications.
Installing software was a daily occurrence with the work I undertook during my time as an IT teaching assistant. Being able to find and fix issues with both hardware and software is a challenge that I welcome. In regards to the use of PC’s and laptops I have comprehensive knowledge in the use of operating systems like Windows and Linux and basic knowledge of Mac OS.
I enjoy learning about new technologies while improving on my existing knowledge. In my spare time I take an online course on how to become a professional freelance web developer through the use of learning HTML5, CSS3, PHP and JavaScript. I have a good understanding of Java and object-oriented programming from my Software Development modules and self-study. I enjoy working as part of a team as I often help other people with providing computer solutions.
Furthermore I want to embrace within the area of Software/Web/App development this area working closely with IT colleagues and IT management would be a beneficial assurance towards a successful long term career.
