Bilal is a cloud engineer and enthusiast. As a Professional Services Engineer he has lead more than 10 customer engagements which includes production scale cloud deployments, designing virtual/physical network infrastructure and cloud software integrations. His major expertise and contribution lies in OpenStack and its distributions namely Ubuntu, RedHat, Mirantis and Rackspace. He is actively involved in the design and development around orchestration/automated-deployment of OpenStack in data-centers using frameworks like Ansible|Puppet|Juju. He is the author of Juju Charms used to deploy PLUMgrid ONS alongside OpenStack. As a solutions engineer at PLUMgrid, he has delivered production-grade solutions which have been certified by programs like Ubuntu OIL. He has also worked on integrating PLUMgrid ONS with container solutions like LXD and cloud virtual-appliance orchestration frameworks like Heat.

Bilal has worked with various technologies in development and operations, including but not limited to (in no particular order): Linux(Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL), Juju, Puppet, Ansible, OpenStack, Fuel, MAAS, DevStack, Heat, LXC, VMware Esxi|Vcenter|*, Shell scripting, Python.

All in all, Bilal has a two year; in the trenches experience, working both in development(Dev) and operations(Ops) roles. His aim is to make cloud operations a thing of the past by developing cutting edge cloud management/orchestration systems.
