Programming is technically not one of my duties in my job but I enjoy it, so I do it. I have helped my office become more efficient by decreasing the amount of repetitive tasks that people have been doing manually. I estimate that I have saved the university over 500 hours of work in my time (<1 yr) as a URA.
I mostly use R and Python but I've been known to dabble in Javascript, PHP, HTML, CSS, etc. for the office inter-university website.
