I’m an advanced apprentice in Epicor, I guess? I sort of consider myself an advanced generalist in many topics. When times are great, I know enough about technology to manage real engineers; and when times aren’t great I know enough to stand in for the engineers temporarily. I took on the Epicor admin role because somebody quit 1 year after go-live, but I really love working on the system and learning how to extend it. I was a plastic injection mouldmaker originally, but that was 20 years ago. Now I see everything as an assembly to be broken down and understood, and I’ve also had enough customer and c-suite contact to appreciate the need for leadership skills as well.
I am self-taught mostly when it comes to programming and technology, with 1000s of hours using VBA and SQL, 100s with C#, 10s with Python, C++, Pascal etc. I'm also an accomplished employee coach, able to pull together teams quickly regardless of the rank of the members!
