My interest in mathematics stems from the fact that I believe math to be an artifact of the way our mind makes sense of reality. That studying the laws of math is studying the computational and representational principles of our own mind. I believe that mathematics is an extension of perception, which also reveals itself in ornamental art, with its many symmetries and periodicities, and also in music, rhythm, poetry, and dance. I am currently working on a book on the Perceptual Origins of Mathematics.
