My background is PHP web development with some dabbling in Python and Ruby over the years. My passion has become SQL (MySQL, SQL Server, Nosql) and especially tuning the server itself or the underlying mechanics of the database system. It's a great feeling to see a query go from 2 minutes to under 2 seconds.

When not playing with MySQL, I illustrate D&D portraits and general sci-fi and fantasy scenes and characters. I love good books and movies and can't get through the day without a great playlist in my ears.
