Greetings All,

I hail from Silicon Valley, the epicenter of all things technology and a sort of "Hollywood" for programmers. The Bay Area, as we call it (because it needs no further distinction), is a primed launching pad for tech careers, sporting a wealth of talent and opportunity for all those who elect to do the grind. I did just that when I entered the field in 2012. Of course, I have tailored my tech career path suit to my strengths and interests. As of 2016, I am working as a network analyst in healthcare and use programming languages (primarily Python and Java) in conjunction with skills from other disciplines - like Statistics and Database Admin - to be as innovative, efficient and effective as possible.
I tip my hat to all the software developers, VR engineers and other such wizards out there, but for my professional career, programming is means to an end. It is a tool I use copiously to accomplish some larger task; granted, a tool of unrivaled power and possibility. Once I realized its value for my skill set I became engrossed in learning as much about programming as I could. 5 years hence and, predictably, I have not yet become a real wizard. As the singular Albert Einstein quipped, "The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know.". For me, I would have to add "... that other people do.". Luckily, there are places like StackO with vast reservoirs of knowledge for everyone to share, learn, and all that good stuff.

Happy Coding, Greg
