I'm the founder of Format My Thesis, a specialised thesis formatting service offering 1-on-1 support to individual clients (typically PhD students) as well as running training seminars and workshops at local universities.

I work exclusively in Microsoft WORD and make heavy use of templates, styles and other "power" features of WORD. As a former applications programmer, I frequently dip into VBA to automate some of the more laborious, repetitive and error-prone aspects of the formatting process.

It's a lot of fun pulling rabbits out of WORD's hat each day and seeing my clients' faces light up as they watch their sometimes shabby thesis documents transform into elegant, publishable books. And i get to read some pretty interesting stuff and met some very interesting people in the process!
