I'm a developer with a passion for what I do. I've been writing code since high school and haven't stopped yet - 30 years later.
I started on Apple ][ (BASIC/Forth/6502), worked my way through IBM XT's (Turbo Pascal/Assembler). During this time we focused on creating software for the building industry. My primary focus was Billcost, a cost estimator, with all the paraphernalia that goes with that, including integrating to accounting systems. After that I moved to JunkMail where I was working with Sperrmull, the german holding company to create an ad booking and financial system for all classified companies in the group.
I started my own company and a couple of years later, where I developed our own billing system, able to send out regular electronic invoices, take payments and calculate VAT. Student Village asked me to come develop their social network, using PHP, PostgreSQL and AJAX, while my wife kept the helm at our company. When the product was delivered, I moved back to the company and landed a contract to develop an road sign management system for the government. We integrated with Google Maps using PostgreSQL's spatial queries. A large part of this project consisted of generating cost estimates for replacing the signs.
Currently I am developing Revelight, a Hospital Information System, which handles all the medical billing, integration to AccPac and medical switches.
