I'm a long-time tech junkie, a gray-hair of this industry. I'm not saying how old I am but my first programming was on the old Radio Shack TRS-80 Model 1 and I've worked in more than a dozen programming languages in my life, including some pretty obscure ones (APL anyone?). I've written more than 50 books about technology and have been doing Web design and development since the very early days of its existence. I was, e.g., the first Webmaster at Salon.com. I love Web app development, these days using mostly NOLOH and blogging with Posterous.com. If I could use Smalltalk for all my work I'd be in heaven but that's so impractical that even an aging hippie like myself knows better. Python is my second favorite language but I've never tackled a big enough project to get really good at it. Someday maybe....
