I'm interested in software engineering in the fields of image processing, remote sensing, geospatial applications, hydrography, and GIS. I'm a former federal employee of 12 years with the Naval Oceanographic Office where I served as a Physical Scientist / Hydrographer mapping the world's oceans in support of national security. I have transitioned careers from science to software and am truly enjoying my time with Harris Corporation as a software engineer supporting the Department of Defense.
On a personal note, I am excited about IOT, Autonomous Vehicles (aviation, undersea, self-driving cars), Robotics & Artificial Intelligence, and Satellite technologies , and I think they will be the hottest and most practical trends in the next 5 - 10 years. I also think space exploration technology is awesome. It amazes me that @SpaceX can land a rocket booster on a barge and actually reuse it. I don't ever want' to go to Mars, but I think it will be amazing if we ever do, and am keeping an eye on the development and funding of the SLS.
