Luis Moncayo Degree of Doctor of Engineering (2008) from the University of Exeter (UK), Master of Science in Quality Systems and Productivity (2002) Tecnologico de Monterrey (Monterrey Campus) and Industrial Engineering (2000) by the National Polytechnic Institute.

In his professional experience, he has developed several process improvement projects for Grupo Elektra (storage), Nissan (process standardization), Grupo Industrial Saltillo (internal logistics). He has applied tools inventory theory, simulation and mathematical programming (including linear programming).

It belongs to the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) US and Mexican Operations Research Society (SMIO).

In the teaching field, he has taught undergraduate and graduate students in public and private universities and from 2013 is a research professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations ITAM.

His current research focuses on optimizing large-scale manufacturing and logistics systems using new optimization techniques (meta-heuristics) and Operations Research (including simulation). The results of their research published in refereed scientific journals and has participated in several international conferences.

He is a member of the National System of Researchers of the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT).
