Coding is a hobby. It is fascinating and rewarding. And the second someone offers to pay me to do it, I will completely lose all interest. I may be alone in this, but I swear, there is no faster way to kill my passion about any particular thing than to pay me, and thereby make mandatory what I once chose to do freely. It's also why I'm not a rock star.
