I have 30 years of software analysis, design, development, testing, debugging, marketing, etc., experience. By applying my software skills in fields/domains as diverse as biotech, national defense, government, retail, enterprise, client-server, server-side, client-side, cloud-based, statistics, modeling, simulation, healthcare, and education, I've become very adaptable, gaining the ability to learn and master new technologies quickly. When I started my career, the Internet was solely accessible to government, defense, and academia, and no commercial usage was allowed. I became proficient in protocols like telnet and FTP -- and the oldest web browser in history, Lynx. It was exciting to be part of the first commercial Internet development efforts. So I've gone from mainframe and early desktop (DOS/286/386/Windows 3.11) development to now developing iOS apps for iPad and iPhone. My core software technology of choice is object-oriented design and languages, starting with Turbo Pascal and C++ and learning new OOP languages like C#, Objective-C, and Swift. Being well-rounded, being open to new technologies, and knowing when to avoid flash-in-the-pan fads have been keys to my success.
