During the day I work to ensure that your mobile banking apps can't be absconded by nefarious characters.

By night I work on IoT devices and making my wife's life easier through web sites.

For fun, I do really, really geeky things, like Dungeons and Dragons miniature painting.

For hobbies, I write novels.

My experience in the computer industry includes everything from writing the 8051 assembly code that paints stripes down the highway when I was 17 (ask me about it sometime if you want to be bored) to architecting entire systems that can perform 10,000 transactions per second on less than $10K of hardware. I've worked in everything from BASIC on a TRS 80 Model 1A back in the 1970s to just about every mainstream computer language out there, but lately mostly Java and C++, on every platform from embedded processors to cell phones, from desktops to mainframes, and even IoT devices.
