I’m an expert computer programmer, lover of the outdoors and inventor of Wise Eyes.
I have 25+ years’ experience in developing computer applications to streamline commercial, sales and administrative processes across all types of industries and functions. My special interests are automating the business process and, in the technical arena, databases and data handling.
Before entering the world of Information Technology, I gained the broad experience that now enables me to understand the real needs of my clients – and offer appropriate solutions. Before setting up my current business, I established and ran an electronic component manufacturing company. I’ve also been an electronics research engineer, production engineer, maintenance engineer and design engineer, as well as a production manager and a sales manager.
My sales pitch has always been “Give me a business problem, not an IT specification”. The solution is not always IT, and not always a bespoke application. One of the services that I offer a computer application audit, the objective of which is to establish how well an organisation’s computer technology is supporting its business objectives.
What inspired me to invent Wise Eyes?
Throughout my career, I’ve met countless executives involved in designing, generating or reading business reports. They have expressed near-universal frustration with getting useful information from their databases. Fortune 500 companies, SMEs, government entities and charities – the same issues. The bottleneck is report design. Good reports, especially with plenty of what-if options, are the foundation of sound management decisions.
My solution? Wise Eyes – The Smart Report Writer.
Wise Eyes is a general-purpose database reporting tool for any organisation. It enables easy and rapid design of any report from almost any data source. Wise Eyes does the basic things well, provides solutions to common real-world challenges, and gives everyone access to techniques that only the largest organisations could benefit from in past.
