I have been working in the IT field for about 17 years - I spent first few years in teaching and then switched to work for the industry.
I mostly worked for startups and on many projects as part of my contract works since 2006. I used many different languages (C, C#, PHP, Perl, Python, Java, Go, Objective-C, JavaScript), databases (MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra) and tools as required.
Before that I was a university lecturer - teaching undergrad Computer Science and Electrical Engineering students at couple of government and private universities.
For my undergraduate and masters course works as well as validating PhD research I mostly used C (from 1992-2005). After that due to the nature of my projects in the industry it was not possible for me to focus on a single language and technology stack for longtime/at a stretch. Over the time you will see me answering questions in several different areas due to the nature of the projects I handled.
In general I noticed that I enjoy solving optimization problems.
During my free time I enjoy reading books, gardening, listening to music, nature walk, swimming (I love it but I have not put that much effort to be good at it ... some time I wonder is that really swimming?! :D) and mentoring people. Additionally I work on my personal research project involving music, EEG and neuroscience. If I make good progress in my research then I have a plan to submit the work as my PhD thesis and get a degree.
