Just a digital man in an analogue industry trying to pull the non-believers into the future with me.

Began scripting back in the heyday of mIRC music and movie sharing, where chat bots were the answer to finding pretty much whatever you wanted. This was after the late 80s/early 90s BBS became less popular as more and more people got online and we finally got 28.8kbps modems.

Learned some C and (more) C++ in HS. Went a different direction in my life in college, got a degree in Communication & Anthropology, while learning the first standards of HTML4 and CSS. Ran a website development sole proprietorship after college for 6 years (XHTML/CSS/Javascript/.NET w/VB or C#). Customers tended to retain me for long periods of time because of my diverse skill-set.

Learned Python 2 after 2.7 became so popular, then 3 when 3.3 (I believe) came out. Since then and for the last 4 years I've programmed for automation, sysadmin, web development (django mostly, and REST frameworks), Computer Vision, machine learning, and neural networks (CNNs, DNNs, GANs, etc).

I now have a business in the industry of heavy industrial construction, railroad, electrical, and instrumentation.

Steadfast promoter of the oxford comma, spaces over tabs (or specifically tabs that generate four spaces), and frickin' doin' it live (because the deadline is today and I was just notified there was a project).
