Heh....first professional experience coding: Setting binary boards on a Crompton-Knowles W-10 Jacquard Loom in the mid-60s. (Yes I am that old) Flash forward to the mid-80s and I am doing Assembler and Tiny Basic on 6500s, 6800s, Z-80s and occasional 8080s based controllers. Started doing business applications in C, GW-Basic, Quick Basic (& PDS). Also was doing early Windows development in late 80s using C, then after the VB Betas where over, started doing VB development in Windows. Was a Microsoft VB MVP 1994-1999. Co-Authored books for Waite Group, Que-Macmillan and Addison-Wesley. Was a contributing editor for the Visual Basic Programmer's Journal for several years and wrote numerous periodicals. Well versed in modern Software Architecture and Patterns.

Today, I mostly do C# and VB.Net development on a variety of platforms that include AZURE, WPF, Silverlight, ASP.Net, ASP.MVC, JavaScript, Entity, MVVM, UWP, Xamarin. Also do a fare amount of IOT Development on Arduino, Edison, Galileo, and Rasberry Pi., etc.
