Wenlong Liu is a Ph.D student majoring in Agricultural Engineering. He works in NC State as a graduate research assistant. His research focuses on the effects of agricultural management practices on field hydrology and water quality in agricultural fields. In addition, Wenlong employs Python to investigate spatial relationships of water movement, solute transport and crop yields in actual fields. Besides, Python also helps him to clean messy raw data, conduct data processing and analysis, and perform data visualization.
Wenlong holds the idea that Precision Agricultural is critical and promising in the future, according to the rapid development of food requirement and the availability of advanced technology, including UAVs, deep learning, high speed internet, etc. Therefore, Wenlong tries to apply the newly available techniques in traditional engineering practices, especially agricultural production and related soil and water areas.
