In my day job, I work on Linux servers that support the cable tv customer experience.

As a side business and hobby, I have been creating web pages for many years, mostly via the LAMP stack, but recently have started getting into Ajax. Some of my web projects have included silly toys like Dave Pilkey's (Captain Underpants author) funny name changer to serious projects such as a user-managed website that includes full membership tools, event management (events as in concerts), content management, email management, etc. When I have an idea of a web tool to use and want to try my own, I build one, for example, I've been a tinyurl-style tool to create my own shortened urls.

I'm self-taught for the most part in all things web, but have been working with various flavors of Unix/Linux over the years for work and have received some formal training, but most of what I know/do is from the school of hard knocks and effective google searches.
