I have programmed for over half a century. The first line of code I wrote was Basic Assembler Language for the IBM 360 mainframe using punched cards in 1968: before Neil Armstrong walked on the moon! Yes, I am an ancient dinosaur, but I survived the comet blast of Moore's Law! To do that I have adapted skills that were used in each of the four decades which I've been fortunate enough to be able to code. I have programmed in C/C++, Java, C#, JavaScript, jQuery, Node.js, PL/SQL, and I'm familiar with T-SQL for SQL Server. I have supported large databases used to maintain parts and their locations to enable the quick repair of military aircraft.
I have also worked in banking (now defunct Home Savings of America), automotive manufacturing (Toyota), and power tools sales and distribution (now defunct Rockwell Power Tools).
I have worked on legacy systems using COBOL, JCL, hierarchical DB such as Information Management System (IMS) on IBM Mainframes, and Time Sharing Option with Interactive Search & Display Facility (TSO/ISPF), and an old favorite Basic Assembler Language for the IBM Mainframe.
