I am currently in my pursuit to gain more skills, experience and knowledge in web development. I first got onto this journey when I enrolled for a diploma of database design with an online company while I was working as the Technology Support Officer at Moorebank HS looking after the DER project. Unfortunately, the online company went into liquidation and sensing that my current job is not secured and in demand, as it used to be, I decided to focus on gaining new skills in IT.

This year I decided to enrol in SWSI TAFE but it didn't come without a challenge. I thought I could continue my diploma of web development course but as it turned out, the campus I was in doesn't have enough students to even make a class. So, I went to the north shore and enrolled there but discovered that the pre-requisite for this course is to at least have some knowledge on coding already which was covered in Cert IV Web Based Technology course. So I enrolled in Cert IV but the north shore is too far for me too travel and I found that it's available in SWSI TAFE. I then request to transfer and thank goodness I was able to join the class.

So now, I am currently studying Cert IV Web Base Design. I am really enjoying the new skills I'm learning and I am also finding it exciting to be able to write something in code, to figure out mistakes, to learn new things, to learn project management, and have a more brighter career ahead.

I wish I've done this a long time ago, but it's not too late and I am determined to learn as much as I can and grow in my new career path that I've taken.

If you have any suggestions for me on how I should proceed with this new journey, please send me a message. I appreciate any feedback, and learn from your experience. My goal, is to complete my Cert IV Web Based Technology. We have 18 weeks of learning and I am looking forward to projects of creation, maintenance and support. We are currently studying HTML, PHP and MySql. Later on we'll tackle CSS and javascript which I'm excited about.

Looking forward to meeting and connecting with you Noel
