I'm a man who always wanted to learn how to program. Could not afford computer when I was a teenager. There was no Computer Science in any school I went or the area I live. Finally I met a programmer who is very fluent in C#(his favorite because he loves Windows??? Booo). He recommended C instead of Java which is my first programming language to learn. Love C to death then move on to Haskell or Groovy. Something very different. Goal is to learn Dart, Go, Bash scritp, AWk and D. Need guidance from professional or students.
