My technical curiosity has me continuously learning new "stuff". I currently have extensive experience designing architectures for Web and Java. This last year I've added Hyperledger Fabric and node.js design and development skills. I tinker with the Raspberry Pi. (Current trying to come up with a boat alarm for when it's moored at the dock). And I practice a 'following a bouncing ball' principle. That is, if some comment or topic or web link catches my attention, I follow that topic from link to link to link out of curiosity.. until I'm not interested any more or I get interrupted with real work. Boy can you learn new interesting things that way.
