I love coding. Ever since participating in my first Imagine Cup (a software development contest organized by Microsoft) and creating software with a social purpose, I have been obsessed with the idea that I can create solutions that help people and improve their lives, with the help of a computer a computer and a lot of coffee.
For my first job, I started working on the backend of a solution, I was lucky enough to work on the code and also on the deployment of the solution which really gave an understanding of how everything works together. Later I was given the opportunity to work with Silverlight and that was my first front end project. From that point on, I have been expanding my role as a full stack software engineer.
For a period of time I worked for an oil company as an MWD field engineer. I had to configure tools that would gather information from the oil wells. I learned about geology and the importance of accurate and real time data to make good decisions.
Today I am a senior software engineer working in Washington DC at an international organization. I have learned a lot of great tools, frameworks and techniques such as Scrum, CI/CD, Git, clean code, TDD. Tools that allow me to deliver evolutionary software solutions that solve our customers' needs and essentially eliminate the chances of absolute project failure.
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, I co-funded a web application (Nanay.app), that wants to become a bridge between the people in need and people/organizations that want to help. We have helped more than 500 people. Nanay is a web application developed in Microsoft .Net, deployed in Azure and that has more than 800 users.
