I was a VB programmer for 30+ years (Assembly/Pascal/C/unmanaged C++/VB3 onwards etc), changed to C# after 8 years away from programming and now are a complete novice again. I don't wish to code in C# and have done so since the VB.NET Manager left Microsoft and I heard they are doing away with VB.NET.
What makes me laugh is the latest version of C# has is not null and in VB, it's been available since VB5 to my knowledge (25 years earlier).
Another thing that makes me smile is a so-called programmer can write two or 3 lines of code to change an ACL but before .NET 2.0 couldn't have written the code behind it. So, are they coders?
Been doing HTML before CSS was invented and prefer SCSS these days but unfortunately, Visual Studio (now 2022) is so far behind even VS Code and many others, and I am up-to-date with my MSDN Subscription.
