Hello! I'm Paul
I graduated from TUT where i did software development. Subjects completed: Technical programming(C#, ASP.NET, C++,VB.NET), development software(SQL and PL/SQL),Information systems (project management, system analysis and DBA), System software (Networking, Linux, Cisco and system admin), Industry exposure(eCommerce website developed with ASP.NET), also did a simple shopping cart with C# windows forms that the user had to register first to gain full access to the system's transactions, for that i used mssql server for DBA. and ADO.NET commands. There is more theory based subjects.
The project that i did from TUT was an eCommerce system that we used ASP.NET for web development, used MySQL for DBA and procedures creations. basically a user needed to register first before they can make any transactions to the system, but user had an access to view products before even registering to the system. it was a role-based system where we had admin role who had access to everything in the system while customer had few things that matches his/her role.
I went to We Think Code_ where we learn stuff through peers, no lecture but the community is very strong. I do day to day projects with c language.a simple program called get next line. checks the next line of the written text or document and tells you that there is more lines to read.(with c), did a php project called camagru, basically this one it's like an Instagram. where user registers first to the system, gets the confirmation email to validate the registration. after that the program uses javaScript to access the computer's camera via web browser and let's you take pictures while storing them locally but visible on the web for other users who also registered and are online. User get's notifications if someone commented or liked their picture and lastly user has an option to enable notification preferences(weather to receive notifications or not when others like and comment on their pics), there is one more php project called matcha, this one is basically like a dating site (in progress).
After we think code I am currently interning at Cardinal Insurance company. where we are doing a business dashboard for all the insurance sales that are taking place in the company. we are using C# MVC mainly with the API. so basically there an MVC web that communicates with the API for database requests, then it is the API that talks to the db for the requests. we are using mssql server for DBA and C# MVC for development of the dashboard. of course there is also JavaScript and j Query for styling and behavior of the system. It is a four months internship that started in February ending in may.
Now out of all the technologies and frameworks that i have been exposed to, if there is an opportunity out there that will enable me to sharpen this skills, it would be great.I really found my self enjoying the world of technology. Looking forward to hearing from you my potential employer
