I have a history of coding for my work activities, going back to multiplan 2.0 macros in 1987 and became a self taught advanced visual basic writer for excel, after a long break from needing any automation on spreadsheets, i am feeling the need again using google apps, sheets in particular and am now getting my head around google script.

Why is automation not automatic ?
