Hello! Are you a recruiter? Has one of the items in my resume/alphabet-soup triggered your search filter? Are you thinking that I might be a fit for the role you’re trying to fill? Great! Then please read this carefully:
I’ve done many things in my 20+ years of application development. I can do front-end and back-end. I can do pure programming roles. I can do senior management roles. I’ve been fortunate enough to hone many different technology skills. BUT, at this point, I’m a bit pickier about the future roles I will consider.
I have significant experience with a wide array of back-end technologies (Java, C#, ColdFusion, PHP, SQL, etc.) but I have a much greater interest in front-end work. Specifically, I truly enjoy working with React (and related technologies like JavaScript, jQuery, Angular, HTML/CSS). I have 20+ years of experience working with PHP & MySQL, but let’s be honest: Most of the PHP jobs out there just don’t pay that well. I have rather extreme experience with ColdFusion, but I really don’t want to mess with that anymore. My true interest lies in front-end work. To be more specific, I’m incredibly excited about doing more work with React.
Also, please know that I’m not looking to pack up and relocate somewhere else. Ideally, I would like to work remotely – because I spend my entire day staring at code on a computer monitor, and I can do that more effectively from my home office than I can while chained to some cubicle desk. So if you’re pinging me about your 3-month onsite contract gig doing Java development in Denver, then we probably don’t have much to talk about.
So if you want to talk to me about an opportunity tied to Jacksonville, Florida, then I may be interested. If the opportunity allows for remote work, then I’m much MORE interested. If that opportunity has a heavy emphasis on front-end development (especially, React), then we can probably have a solid conversation.
