I am not that smart. I just do these three things:
- I am the first to show up
- I write everything down
- I am the last to leave
Somehow, I found myself in a position where I had to manage a team of programmers and other people who were more skilled than me. At that point I realized that in order for me to be effective in my role and to have my co-worker's respect, I had to learn how to code and use their tools.
My background in mathematics helped me to teach myself c++, linux, bash, powershell, mysql, php, javascript, html.
Little did I know programming would become such a passion, and a career that I enjoy. I am thankful I discovered it.
I am still learning and will never stop learning. At no point am I afraid, or to established to step out of my comfort zone, or start learning something new, or be considered a beginner.
