Coming from STEM and with a focus in engineering, I've used languages for automation and prototyping since my student years. I've grown to really like programming over my working years, however, and I am now spending time towards formalizing my knowledge in languages and thus understanding better core computer science theories and concepts. Background in:
- FORTRAN, during my study curriculum,
- MATLAB, used for my initial steps in prototyping, now being left out for
- Python, which has matured beautifully and can be integrated readily with many tools of my trade.
Ongoing learning in:
- VBA, just because of its high applicability and sheer amount of legacy code in my line of business,
- C, to get to know a language closer to the machine and return to my compiled FORTRAN roots.
