In my undergraduate degree, I did some bioinformatics work in botany, then computational work in dye-sensitised solar cells (DFT), then more computational work on complexes of pentavalent uranium, neptunium, and plutonium (also DFT). Between the end of my degree and graduate school, I started doing some synthesis of prostaglandin precursors as well as some QM/MM studies on RuBisCO.
I am now doing graduate studies on stable radical ligands (computational; DFT), ligand synthesis, and making complexes with these ligands. These ligands are highly coloured (based on indigo), which keeps things visually exciting.
