I am Ricardo Mendes, a researcher at LaSIGE, Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. I am also a co-Founder of Janus-Storage, a startup that will increase the acceptable dependability of the cloud storage services.

I enjoy not only one programming language, I like to take advantage of the best of them, however, I consider myself a Java expert.

I also am an enthusiast of code performance and effectiveness. I am always seeking for the best approach when solving problems.

Moreover, distributed systems, security and dependability are topics of my interest.
