I'm a Software Developer for a pathology research laboratory in Salt Lake City, primarily utilizing C# and JavaScript. I started coding in 1997 by performing simple I/O operations in DOS. I wrote my first webpage in 1998.

The thing I've built that I'm most proud of was an IM application using VB just after the turn of the century to circumvent my school's web filter.

I hold three bachelor's degrees--two in the hard sciences and one in the social sciences.

My favorite joke is as follows:

A person exists in the multiverse. In three different
universes this person is a physicist, mathematician, and
engineer. Three identical fires break out in their three
identical offices.

The engineer walks in, sees the fire, rushes to the faucet,
filling up buckets of water until the fire is put out.

The physicist walks in, sees the fire, goes to the whiteboard,
calculates the exact amount of water is needed, measures it
out, and then puts out the fire.

The mathematician walks in, sees the fire, goes to the
whiteboard, writes a few lines, turns to the fire,
announces, "There is a solution!", and leaves.

Sometimes I feel like this person, as I'm basically a computer engineer with physics and math degrees.
