Formally trained as a chemist but fell in love with the structure and logic of the computer language. I began taking computer science seriously when taking a computational chemistry class in grad school where we used computers to run statistical quantum mechanical modeling for chemical reactivities. After learning the UNIX environment and writing my first program in Python I was hooked.
