Bastam District (Persian: بخش بسطام) is in Shahrud County, Semnan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Bastam.[3]

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 37,635 in 10,380 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 39,101 people in 11,762 households.[5] At the latest census in 2016, the district had 44,052 inhabitants in 14,295 households.[2]
