Howmeh-ye Sharqi Rural District (Persian: دهستان حومه شرقي) is in the Central District of Khorramshahr County, Khuzestan province, Iran. Its capital is the village of Haffar-e Sharqi.[3]

At the National Census of 2006, its population was 8,388 in 1,594 households.[4] There were 9,721 inhabitants in 2,506 households at the following census of 2011.[5] At the most recent census of 2016, the population of the rural district was 10,267 in 2,825 households. The largest of its 31 villages was Moammareh, with 2,747 people.[2]
