Kamal Shahr (Persian: کمال‌شهر, also Romanized as Kamāl Shahr; also known as Kamalabad (Persian: کمال‌آباد), also Romanized as Kamālābād)[3] is one of the five cities in the Central District of Karaj County, Alborz province, Iran, and serves as the administrative center for Kamalabad Rural District.[4]

At the 2006 census, its population was 80,435 in 20,940 households, when it was in Tehran province.[5] The 2016 census counted 141,669 people in 43,171 households,[2] by which time the county had separated from the province and become a part of recently established Alborz province.[6]
