It was released by Kemosabe Records, RCA Records and Sony Music Latin on September 15, 2023, as the third single from Gomez's third Spanish-language and first Regional Mexican studio album, Esquinas (2023). The single is dedicated to her grandfather who died.[1]
Composition
The song is a heartfelt sierreño song where Gomez sings about the moments she shared with her grandfather.[2] In the song, Gomez lovingly reminisces about her grandfather’s smile, the rustic ranch he toiled on, and the signature hat that adorned his head. With profound emotion, she sings, ‘What I whispered to you as a child has now become reality; I know you’re watching proudly from above.’
Music video
The music video was released alongside the single. It was directed by Gomez and Elias Lopez. The music video for the song delves into nostalgia, as the singer has used family archive footage where we see her as a child with her grandparents.[3]
