Tanbalan (Persian: تنبلان, also Romanized as Tanbalān)[3] is a village in, and the capital of, Tanbalan Rural District of Karvan District, Zarabad County, Sistan and Baluchestan province, Iran.[4]

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 455 in 119 households, when it was in Zarabad-e Gharbi Rural District of the former Zarabad District of Konarak County.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 188 people in 50 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 243 people in 61 households.[2]

After the census, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Zarabad County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with Zarabad as its capital and only city.[4]
