If you get the error message while running react-native run-android, try to go to android folder and clean gradlew cd android && ./gradlew clean Also you can trying run chmod +x gradlew

Your project should be successfully started

First make sure your environment is setup correctly as the documentation says.

If so, try these things:

  1. cd android then ./gradlew clean
  2. or else try to do delete node modules and run npm install

Check you need to edit the uses-sdk in the AndroidManifest.xml like your build.gradle

<uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="11" android:targetSdkVersion="14" />

and the android section, particularly minSdkVersion and targetSdkVersion in the build.gradle file

android {
    compileSdkVersion 17
    buildToolsVersion "17.0.0"

    defaultConfig {
        minSdkVersion 11
        targetSdkVersion 14
    }
}
