ParseExcel ignoring qoutes in cells

I have cells in my spreadsheet which are containing quoted strings but when I read via the method cell->value the qoutes are ignored/dropped.

"String" gets read as String

What is the correct way to have the quotes not ignored via this Perl module - I have done some research but could not find any information.

Is there another method to read quoted strings.
