Chubar (Persian: چوبر, also Romanized as Chūbar, Choobor, Chowbar, and Chuber; also known as Chobar)[3] is a village in, and the capital of, Chubar Rural District[4] of Ahmadsargurab District, Shaft County, Gilan province, Iran.

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 1,248 in 335 households.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 1,265 people in 375 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 1,069 people in 360 households. It was the largest village in its rural district.[2]
