Jaru (Persian: جارو, also Romanized as Jārū)[3] is a village in, and the capital of, Jaru Rural District of Palangabad District, Eshtehard County, Alborz province, Iran.[4]

At the 2006 census, its population was 602 in 156 households, when it was in Palangabad Rural District of Eshtehard District, Karaj County, Tehran province.[5]

In August 2010, Karaj County, Nazarabad County, and Savojbolagh County were separated from the province in the establishment of Alborz province.[6]

In June 2012, Eshtehard District was separated from Karaj County in the establishment of Eshtehard County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with Eshtehard as its capital and only city at the time.[4]

At the most recent census in 2016, the population of the village had increased to 766 in 254 households.[2]
