What is your preferred proportional spaced font to use for programming (in Visual Studio)? If you think God intended for coding to be done in a fixed width font, this question is not for you!

Several years ago, I started out using Verdana; when Tahoma became available, I switched as it is more compact. Is it time to switch again? I've looked at Calibri, it seems too big (like Verdana); I’ve also tried Segoe UI it has too much space around the letters (good for UI, not so good for text).

Yes, this is close to several other questions:

But I don't think it's a duplicate (at least I couldn't find an "exact duplicate") as I'm looking for only proportional spaced fonts. It's is also subjective and similar to:

  • It is about time to get rid of the world of 80x25 text terminals and switch to proportional fonts :) – Tronic Feb 25 '10 at 16:26
  • I'm going to watch this as I'm curious how many people can use proportional fonts to code – CaffGeek Feb 25 '10 at 16:33
  • This is a dupe of many similar questions on SO, and is more appropriate for SU at any rate as it does not directly relate to programming, and is subjective. – Ether Feb 25 '10 at 16:38
